11.02 Provisions Governing the Application of the Salary Schedule Set Forth in Article 11.01 (a), (b), (c) shall be as follows:

  1. Initial Salary and Increments for Service Director (Special Education) and Area Service Directors 
  1. Upon first appointment to the position of Service Director (Special Education) or Area Service Director, a teacher shall be placed on the salary scale at a step which provides for a minimum increase of $7,634.00 effective the first day of fall term 2018, and $7,740.00 effective first day of the fall term, 2019, and $7,778.00 effective the first day of the fall term 2020, and TBD effective the first day of Fall 2021 (unless limited by the maximum for the position) or the minimum for the position whichever shall be the greater.
  1. The Division will upon initial appointment of a person to the position of Service Director (Special Education) or Area Service Director pay an initial starting salary which is the greater of the salary determined in Article 11.02(a)(i) or the minimum for the position plus an amount equal to one (1) annual increment, except as may be limited by the maximum for the position, for each year of administrative or supervisory experience obtained in the seven (7) years immediately prior to the effective date of the initial appointment.

 

  1. Work Year for Service Director (Special Education) and Area Service Directors

As a condition of employment, the Service Director (Special Education) and Area Service Directors shall be required to work one (1) month in addition to the standard school year as defined in Article 24.01(a).  Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Service Director (Special Education) and Area Service Directors may be required to work at times during Standard Vacations as defined in Article 24.01(c) but in no case shall they be required to work a number of days in any calendar year greater than the total equivalent to the standard school year plus one (1) month, with the proviso that extra time given to complete professional responsibilities or for occasional professional development activities shall not be taken into account as being part of the additional one (1) month to be worked.
