ARTICLE 15 - ALLOWANCES FOR APPROVED COURSES

Allowances for improved qualifications for approved courses shall be paid according to the following:

 

1. A teacher shall receive the following amounts for each (6) six credit hour course

and the following amounts for each three (3) credit hour course successfully completed.

*   COLA to be determined as follows: In January 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter, when the 12-month (January to December 2021) average annual Manitoba Statistics Canada Consumer Price Index (All Items) change is made known, the increase will be applied retroactively to July 1, 2021 (to be effective Fall term 2021).

 

2. Course allowances shall not be paid for any course provided and/or subsidized by the Division.

 

3. If a qualified teacher has completed a course which puts him/her into a higher class, he/she will receive the salary of the higher class from the beginning of the teaching month following successful completion of the course.

 

4. To receive consideration for payment of course allowances, a teacher must submit application(s) for course allowances to the Area Superintendent within forty-five (45) days of commencement of the course(s).
