Effective September 1st, 2015, up to five (5) days of sick leave entitlement per school year may be used for family related matters (illness, injury, medical appointments) for the teacher’s spouse, teacher’s common law spouse, children (shall include natural, step, or foster children), parents or parents-in-law. Where both parents are employees of the Division, only one parent may utilize the above days at any one time. This leave is non cumulative from one school year to the next school year. This leave is prorated for part time teachers.
Every effort shall be made to schedule medical appointments outside of school hours.
Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent.
