Each teacher shall be allowed Bereavement Leave without loss of salary up to five (5) teaching days in the event of the death of a family member.
Relationship to Deceased Maximum Leave
Spouse The day of the death to
Parent (natural, in-law, step, foster) the day following the funeral,
Son, daughter, brother, sister inclusive to maximum of five (5) days.
Grandparent, Grandchild
Any relative who has lived regularly
In the same household.
Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law
Son-in-law, Daughter-in-law two (2) days
Grandparent of spouse
(Uncle or Aunt
Nephew or Niece) of spouse one (1) day
Cousin
In the event of unusual travel, personal problems or extenuating circumstances relating to bereavement or bereavement leave, additional leave days may be granted by the senior administration.
