Where increased qualifications are completed during the spring or summer sessions, which qualify a teacher for an advance in classification on the salary schedule, the resulting increase in salary shall become effective September 1st of that year, providing that satisfactory evidence has been supplied to the Board and Manitoba Education by the teacher by:
- September 10th for improved qualifications obtained during the Spring term.
- October 31st for improved qualifications obtained during the Summer sessions.
- If the teacher fails to provide evidence of improved qualifications by the above dates, then the effective date for the change in salary will be the first month following receipt of such evidence by the Board.
- Any salary adjustments resulting from increased qualifications during the periods other than the Spring or Summer sessions shall be made effective from the first day of the month following which satisfactory evidence has been filed with the Board and Manitoba Education.
- Salary adjustments resulting from increased qualifications due to February convocation shall be retroactive to January 1st of that year. Delays due to extenuating circumstances beyond the teacher's control shall be accepted by the Board resulting in no loss of retroactive pay.
- The onus is on the teacher to provide evidence of his/her qualifications and experience to Manitoba Education, and Secretary-Treasurer of the Lord Selkirk School Division.
